Indie Artist Q&A featuring Dan “burnboy” Whittemore

June 14 @ 9:00 am 10:00 am MST

CTRL Camp presents Masters of Sync – a monthly series where we expose you to successful people in this sync licensing so that you can learn from their successes and hopefully avoid their mistakes.

This month, we’re featuring Dan “burnboy” Whittemore, a producer who responsible for the sounds of some of your favorite video games and trailers and who collaborates with some of your favorite artists.

You’re not going to see a lot of interviews online, he hasn’t done a lot so trust me, you don’t want to miss this chance to learn from some one who is at the very top of the sync production game.

Since his first placement in the 2004 season of MTV’s Real World/Road Rules Challenge, composer/producer Dan Whittemore discovered he had a knack for creating music that worked well in sync.

One Limp Bizkit tribute band, many failed top 40 pitches, thousands of sync placements, and a couple of global k-pop singles later…Dan created his solo project.: burnboy.

burnboy’s music is heavy, dark, and fires people all the way up. If you’re a fan of the UFC, you’ve already been listening to him as his music has been featured over 25 times ahead of all the most watched fights. And it’s for a good reason, as fight fans from all over the world have called his songs “music to punch people to.”

burnboy taps top underground talent from around the world to elevate his sound. His debut single “Champion” with NEONI exploded onto major playlists and racked up 150M+ streams globally. Since then, his music has powered Netflix hits, Hulu trailers (Kardashians, Harlem), video game trailers (Fortnite, Gotham Knights, Legends of Runeterra), global ad campaigns for Craftsman, and promos for everything from Guy Fieri’s competition series to International F1 hype videos. He’s even scored multiple seasons for the Emmy Award winning franchise, Life Below Zero.

burnboy continues to make music with his band Pep Squad, Dope By Association, Kat Leon, Heather Miley, Sam Tinnesz, NEONI, YONAS, Savannah Hannah, AV, and many others. His future releases include collaborations that will be unleashed on the world through Position Music and Lyric House, as well as official remixes for The Doors, My Chemical Romance, and P.O.D.
